Why is so much harder to get
in shape over 40 and what can we do about it?

Because of our decreasing levels of hormones like oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone we have gained fat.
 
The reduction in hormone levels leads to loss of muscle and fat gain particularly around the belly. That’s why it’s called middle aged spread!
 
But we can do something about it if we focus on building our metabolism.
 
This is done through strength training, either at home or at the gym.
 
Building lean muscle will replace the muscle we have lost through the ageing process and burn more fat, therefore increasing our metabolism.

What is different about this 12-week program?

Many of the programs out there don’t work for women over 40 because they don’t address the fact that our metabolism has reduced.

Here is what we can do about it:
 
  1. Build our metabolism with strength training.
  2. Use High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to burn fat.
  3. Eat good quality lean protein and carbohydrates to build metabolism and good fats to balance hormones.

These three strategies will result in you successfully LOSING BODY FAT like I did in the picture.

 

I have taken a pretty good look at the program. All the weeks nutrition and the first week of workouts, both written and videos. First of all, this really is fantastic! I've seen programs where there are so many glitches, or incomplete explanations, or it's just hard to read with bad grammar and rough overall. Yours is well done and easy to navigate. About Melissa
